Horticulture Industry in Northeast Texas
Located in northeast Texas are several major horticulture industries: field rose production, woody nursery stock production and greenhouse bedding plant production. The 2001 estimated production value of nursery crops in Smith, Cherokee, Henderson and Van Zandt counties was $245,000,000.00, which was about 20% of the total production of nursery crops in the State of Texas (source: Agricultural Income Survey - 2001).
