The JMG program engages children in novel, “hands-on” group and individual learning experiences that promote a love of gardening, develop an appreciation for the environment, and cultivate the mind. JMG encourages youths to be of service to others through learning and leadership development projects and rewards them with certification. For more information on youth gardening programs and activities, see the Just for Kids site at Texas A&M University.
This is a game based on the curriculum of the JMG program, designed for grades 3-5. To play, just click on any of the pictures on the game board and you're off on a gardening adventure. You can play the game as an individual or in teams. But as a note, when opening this game in Internet Explorer, you will get one or two messages saying that this program could have content harmful to your computer and do you want to continue. This is the browser's security program at work. The game does not contain any harmful material, and you must say "yes" to continue. Good luck and enjoy the game!
The JMG Game questions/answers discuss concepts related to Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) learning objectives which can be seen by clicking on the link.
