'Mount' Orig. as native seedling discovered in 1949 on farm of E. E. Mount, Okmulgee, OK and brought to attention by Dept. of Hort., Oklahoma Agr. Exp. Sta., Stillwater. Introd. in 1966. Nut: oval elliptic, with obtuse apex and base; round in cross section; 75 nuts/lb, 52% kernel; excellent shelling pecan. Protogynous. Hardy. Ripens early, 2 weeks before Stuart. Resistant to scab. Recommended (1990) for planting in OK.
