BCMGA would like to thank everyone who came out to our 2006 Spring Plant Sale. The weather was beautiful, the crowd was large and everyone had a good time. If you didn't make it to this plant sale, plan to come to the next one. They just keep getting better.
The sale proceeds go to support our ongoing programs and projects. We and the community appreciate your support.

SALE PREPARATION:
Hard work and long hours at the Demostration Gardens and member homes went into preparation for the plant sale. Potting soil had to be mixed, seeds and cuttings prepared and planted. The plants had to be care for during the winter and early spring. Finally, the plants were potted, trimmed and made ready for the sale. Special thanks to all who spent so much time propagating and caring for the plants. There certainly was an abundance of plants!
Here are photos showing the preparation for the sale -

SALE PREPARATION:
The week before the sale is spent cleaning up the grounds, setting up the tables and final plant preparation.

THE SALE:
Shoppers start showing up early at the gate, socializing while waiting for the sale to open. Finally at 8:00, the gates open, they grab their wagons and take off for the plants. Master Gardeners mingle with the shoppers answering questions and giving advice on selections. When wagons are full, the shoppers head to the checkout area. From there, other Master Gardeners help load the plants in the cars and off they happily go to their new gardens.
