The plants are arranged alphabetically, with information on varieties and their characteristics, tolerance to varying soils and temperature zones, hints on germination, how to grow them out, diseases, timing of fertilizing, physiological problems from environmental factors, field and greenhouse performance, propagation, sources, postharvest treatments, and stage of harvest. Lists of materials for further reading are included. A wide range of plants suitable for cut flower and foliage uses are described: annuals, perennials, bulbs, woody shrubs and small trees.
